The New Old-Timers

New Old Timers

The New Old-Timers are a quartet of friends sharing their enjoyment of folk and bluegrass music Both relaxed and spirited, the group presents songs from many sources, old and new--tunes about work, humor and sorrow, love, celebration and faith.

The New Old-Timers feature a variety of styles on banjo, bass, guitar, mandolin and fiddle, as well as offering several kinds of vocals, including acappella, harmony and sing-alongs. Recently, they have added a repertoire of "newgrass"--modern, hard-driving bluegrass-- which excites the more nontraditional crowd.

The original group is made of Joe Vincent on banjo, Kenna Vincent on upright bass, and J.F. Stover on guitar and whatever(?). They have recently been joined by Todd Toman on mandolin, who pushes the group to reach to new levels. Always a crowd pleaser, Jim Vincent (son of Joe and Kenna) is occassionaily pursuaded to add some extra flavor on his 5-string fiddle.
